Whenever possible, I paint on site, including sitting on a beach with walrus, or climbing an iceberg to paint from, or sitting in the shadows of Uluru as the sun sets.
Capturing the images of where I am as I am in the moment makes the artwork a part of the experience, including the sight, smell, weather, humidity and emotions experienced. I hope to bring these feelings to the viewer - to the immediacy of the experience.
I capture the experience with camera as well, for later exploration of the site. This also is a practical solution to images from underwater I create on canvas as well.
This site is still under construction. Come back often and check for new locations and artwork.
Thank you for visiting.
